For the last of these mini post, I thought I would make a list of our favorite things to do on those cold days:
1. Hide and seek or Sardines
2. Play dough
3. Race Car Track Tape. Start your engines we race toys across the finish lines. (Diesel the engine is the fastest at our house)
4. Dance party/sing a longs
5. Talent show-let your kids put on a show get them busy with decorations and let them take turns show-in off their stuff
6. Outing to restaurant with playhouse
7. Pretend camping complete with roasting marshmallows...(Oh how I dream of summer days)
8. Puzzles and Board games. My kiddos favorite right now is Pie face.
9. Bowling with solo cups
10.Create a silly video or watch videos of them as a baby.
Paint Activity! Okay before you start thinking no way, take a look at these...
My friend, gave me this adorable grow board and I had the kids paint the train, (the Little Lady picked it out) and the dinosaur as markers for how tall they are. So before you say no way to a painting activity, think of ways that you could use their art!
Ways to help keep painting with kids less messy:
Brake out the water color books! Paint with water books are great and cheap enterainment. I found mine at Hobby Lobby and have seen them at many craft stores. This book cost $1.75. Well worth it.
Messy scale 1 out of 10!
I recycled some little spice containers with flip lids, which worked prefect for dipping their paint brush in.
Easy quick even for those days when you have a lot going on as we get closer to Christmas.
Do you want to build a snowman?
Okay, I couldn't help myself. But yes we did want to build a snowman but with runny noses and freezing temperatures this momma had to bring the snow inside. What?
That is right, I brought the snow inside and put it in the tub! We have a great family video of my older brother as a toddler playing in the snow beside the bath tub and it is priceless. Sticking with the fun tradition that my mom set was a total win for my kiddos too.
Wait a minute what happened to Cold Winter Day Buster #2!
It is on Forever a Students Wife facebook page. Follow us.
We are frozen! Nine degrees frozen! While the snow is great for the local farmers and mother nature. It is making all the other mommas like me crazy. I am pretty sure I lost the rest of mind along with the first snow fall. I needed some activities to break up the long days. Follow along with us.
8 cups of Floor to every 1 cup of baby oil (see orginal post here by Life Lessons Journal)
